The Jack Way Memorial Scholarship
Breaking News for 2010 (Jan 27, 2010)
Goodness it is already January 2010 and time to be planning for this year’s scholarship. Where does the time go? This year the committee has revamped the scholarship application in an effort to clarify requirements and information needed to be a successful candidate. The new updated application form is in this issue of the SCAN, on this page, as well as in local schools. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a worthy high school graduate or student enrolled in a post high school program or college, and who’s parent or legal guardian is a member of SSA. The scholarship committee will also consider the applicant’s need. Please remember all parts of the application: the scholarship form, essay, transcript, and letter of recommendation. The completed application is due this year on April 23, 2010. Applications received after that date cannot be considered. Best of luck to all applicants.
Our primary funding for this scholarship depends upon individual donations (tax deductible). Anyone wishing to make a contribution to this worthwhile cause may send a check to SSAI, Jack Way Memorial Scholarship, P.O.box768, East Falmouth,MA 02536.

The Jack Way Memorial Scholarship applauds citizenship by honoring the memory of a man who fervently believed in the adage,
"If everyone works together, we can make the world a better place to live." Jack Way's optimism and inspiration touched the people of Seacoast Shores
in many beneficial ways, whether it was through his stewardship of the local Crime Watch Chapter or being the President of the Seacoast Shores Association.
