Membership Committee


The Membership Dues for 2011 have now been set by the Seacoast Shores Board of Directors.

Invoices will be mailed to all homeowners at the end of March.

This year, the dues will remain at $130. This includes the funding of the police details account in order to raise additional funds to increase police presence. The new membership form can be downloaded by clicking here.

 

We are often asked what the benefits of membership are, here is our summary:

 

Benefits of being a Seacoast Shores Association, Inc. Member

Our beach is gorgeous, the entranceway beautified, the grass along the boulevard maintained,
the crime rate down, and we are right at the cusp of commencing a major Clubhouse project!
Our mission statement directs our efforts and spending.

It is important that all residents join the Association ao that we can continue the many great benefits as well as to have the funds and support to improve the only major peninsular community in Falmouth with no bridge:

  • Maintains the clubhouse and grounds
  • Finances insurance for the clubhouse, beach, and right of ways
  • Keeps the beach clean and plans for periodic refurbishment
  • Schedules and pays for additional police patrols for enhanced police protection and presence
  • Makes the clubhouse available for rental (to members only) at a modest fee
  • Pays the cost of heat, taxes, electricity, landscaping, and maintenance for Association property
  • Maintains the award winning Seacoast Shores front entrance and keeps the grass mowed along the Boulevard and around the clubhouse
  • Maintains a Neighborhood Crime Watch (No. 2 in MA) that is instrumental in substantially reducing criminal activity on Seacoast Shores
  • Monitors our 31 Right of Ways to ensure resident access to the water
  • Administers the Seacoast Shores Jack Way Memorial Scholarship Fund to give financial aid to a deserving student, who is a child of a member.
  • Attends Town Meetings on matters that concern Seacoast Shores
  • Designs and maintains Seacoast Shores website
  • Provides social activities at the clubhouse including children’s bingo, adult social activities, outdoor family movie nights, etc.
  • Publishes the SCAN Newsletter with articles of interest to homeowners and regular email notices of major events, resident concerns and other pertinent information
  • Partners with 14 local businesses to obtain discounts
  • Promotes neighborhood pride with prizes for landscaping and beautification
  • Hosts an annual Police demonstration of law enforcement for our young adults and children
  • Promotes business networking
  • Works with local government to monitor projects such as road repaving & Colonial gas line installation
  •  Publishes an Annual Membership Directory by Name, by Street and other information important to owners

Recent Special Projects

  • Raised significant money and secured Town, State, and Federal permits to restore our beach.
  • Added evergreen trees to the front entrance landscape.
  • Authored, sponsored, and was responsible for the amendment to Falmouth by Law 240-23b to prohibit multi family houses on lots of less than 15,000 sq. ft.
  • Designed and constructed the beautiful stone entrance to the Blvd.
  • Enhanced the Member Advantage program for discounts to 14 local businesses

Each new member will help us to not only continue to enhance the Seacoast Shores community, but to do even more to Enhance the Quality of Life of all Seacoast Shores Residents!
